I loved Quentin. When I was in my 20s in Manhattan, they were a regular fixture in the bars, holding court. I had the pleasure on more than several occasions to sit and chat. Lovely, lovely human being. Funny and beautiful.

Quentin Crisp has been my idol since I was little. It makes me crazy that I lived just a couple of blocks from him in NYC, for a while, and didn't know it. All you had to do was invite him to lunch, and he'd come, so he said, and I would have! I am so envious of and happy for you to have been able to hang out with him Nan!

Thanks for the memories! I remember seeing a great documentary about him on the film festival circuit back in the early nineties, Resident Alien. It’s available for rent on Amazon.
